I wanted a view of Montélimar from the 18th century for my film project. This view shows a lot of space around the buildings and captures the slower pace of those days.
Inscription on back of card:
After her mother died and before she was married, Madame de lla Tour du Pin would accompany her grandmother to the house of her uncle, the Archbishop of Narbonne, every summer. Montélimar had one of the few decent inns for ladies in the 1770s.
N.B. This card has a small post chaise on the upper right on the inside of the card.
